TRIP THRU HELL

I received my copy of the remastered Trip Thru Hell yesterday. I worked a 10 hour shift doing demolition yesterday so I cleaned the record but I was also dead tired so I decided to wake up first thing in the morning and listen to it. I just want to say that you did an incredible job on remastering this album.

It was like I was listening to this album for the first time again… So listening to this on the turntable with good quality speakers made my face completely melt off.

I can tell that you put a lot of care and effort into this remaster and this vinyl release… the packaging is awesome. You should be very proud of yourself with how this remaster and physical release has turned out as well as you and your band mates should be proud of making such a unique and amazing record.

I wasn't even alive when your album was first put out on CD, I’m 23 years old. I just hope you know that the C.A. Quintet’s music will live on through generations and not a lot of artists can really say that.

I just wanted to thank you now that the records have arrived and I’ve finally had the chance to sit down and listen to this new version of Trip Thru Hell.

First of all, the shipping was incredibly fast, and I have to compliment you on the packaging. I rarely receive records packed with this much care and protection! Everything was incredibly secure. You can really feel the attention that went into this release, right down to the smallest details.

And most importantly… the sound is spectacular! I already own the 2023 Sundazed reissue, which I think sounds pretty good, but this new version is on another level. The clarity, detail and separation of the instruments are astonishing. At times, it honestly feels like you guys are playing right there in my living room!

I know this album very well, yet I found myself hearing details I had never really noticed before. It’s such a pleasure to rediscover a record I’ve loved for years in this way, almost 60 years after it was originally recorded.

After all the hundreds of hours you put into this project, I just wanted you to know that we can absolutely hear the difference on this side of the Atlantic! The result is incredible and brings a whole new sense of presence and life to the album.

You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished with this edition. I’m truly happy and honored to have a copy in my collection.

Please forgive me for the delay. I received the records in perfect condition some days ago. Congratulations on such professional packaging.

I also wanted to congratulate you: I love everything in the album, the jazzy parts, the ghosty distant choirs (thinking of sample them), the cosmic stereo cavalcading drum breaks and unexpected changes, as if switching TV channels or radio frequencies randomly, like a psychedelic mind collage but what I appreciate the most: the epic western trumpet parts in the album, reminds me of Ennio Morricone but in a darker mood, almost dark-folk.

It was very well and strong packaged. The artwork is great with the booklet. The sound is incredible. It's nothing like the reissue I had. Thank's also for having dedicated it. I'm delighted by this album. Thank's for all.

Ken, you can’t imagine how happy I am today! My wife saw me in the morning while opening the box and said, you look so happy, like a little child!

I think that all the people that got the record, feel the same way! I don’t know if you can understand this wonderful feeling of community this project (basically, you) created. I certainly hope all this love and appreciation from us gets to you!

I listened to THE LP (2026 remaster) twice via headphones yesterday evening and played loud the 2026 and 1996 releases this morning. Your remastering has cleared and cleaned the sound in general. It is obvious.

To my ears, 3 instruments can be even more appreciated: the Trumpet, the Bass Guitar and the Drums. The ''back and forth'' in Trip Thru Hell (part.1) is more limpid and natural.

Some instruments or musical arrangements that were already there but somewhat hidden in the background suddenly appear now: Bells in Trip Thru Hell Part.2, Triangle (at least, I think it is one) in Colorado Mourning, for instance. Harmony between the voices in Trip Thru Hell (part.2) sounds more celestial (!) now.

The ascending chromatic scale in Cold Spider, after 1'54'' is such a beauty. It's like during a take off when planes leave the floor, first we feel the pressure and then, there is a kind of suspended floating weightless moment.

Lovely words. It is no wonder. People love it Ken. It was a sleeping beauty, and now, revealed in all its glory, it's true treasure...but not to be buried in the chest, its audio gold now. Be proud.

I dont know where to start. I received the package two days ago, but due to illness I have not listened to it until now. The package survived the trip (pun intented) to Sweden with little to no bruises, puh!

I listened in headphones, and the amount of detail and clarity is fantastic, truly mesmerizing. Whilst listening I looked at the wonderful jacket and started reading the liner notes. Fully emersed in the music I suddenly read part of an email sent from me to you. My eyes watered. A very deep feeling of connectedness to you, the music and the aesthetic as a whole took over me.

This is why I love art and music. It can truly feel magical. You can truly take a trip in your mind. A piece of music can be a spirit guide as you travel within yourself. Thank you for being my spirit guide now and again. Its an honor to be a smaaaaall part of this continuing trip.

What a momentous and historic day this is. I have just received the record. Forty years have passed since I first heard it, yet it feels as though today was the very first time. Everything is perfect. You have done a magnificent job, and I cannot find the words to express how I feel. An amazing work of art, straight from the hands of its creator. What more is there to say? I might forget my own birthday someday, but never this day. I will celebrate it every year in my own way. August 25, 2026—it is etched in my heart forever. I will be back in touch once the emotion subsides. Until then, stay well, and thank you for everything.

Received my 2 copies of the album yesterday. Wow. Totally wrapt in the packaging, presentation, cover, booklet & top of the list, the sound quality of the pressing. I agree with a lot of the other purchasers. It's like hearing the record for the first time. Just amazing! Well done. I wish every album I purchase was this much fun. You've made record buying for a thrill, even for someone 76 & been buying records since I was nine years old. Thank you. Thank you.

Now, of course, you’ve created another problem for us… we want more! If there are still any outtakes, alternate takes, unreleased recordings or live tapes hiding somewhere in the archives, I’m sure many of us would love to hear them someday! You guys surely had their reasons and life took the band in another direction, but I can’t help thinking how much we would have loved to hear what might have come after Trip Thru Hell. Unfortunately, history had other plans! So if there’s still another little trip hidden away somewhere… we’ll be waiting!

Captain, my captain!!! I woke up early in the morning and started visiting post offices near me! After visiting 3 different of them, fighting with post office and customs agents, I finally got to the chest! Everything was perfect, records in excellent condition! So happy right now, I am opening the box! I will return with official updates about this whole trip!! THANK YOU so much for everything!!

Hi Captain I got my LP. Fantastic job. Very pleased to finally own the best sounding version of this album which I first came across in the early 1980s when it was bootlegged by Psycho records. I was in my early 20s back then and recall playing Cold Spider at a party. Much better than Spandau Ballet. I have bought every legit version released ever since but now this one ends the quest. Many thanks!

Sometimes things are the worth the wait. The release of the 2026 remix/remaster of “Trip Thru Hell” is just that kinda thing, an awesomely put together reissue. Ken has done a terrific job. Sounds and looks amazing. Glad and humbled to play a small part in its completion. Sail onwards into infinity!

Dear Captain, It was a kind of Odyssey as the parcel wasn't where it was supposed to wait for me, as well as a postman never came last Saturday to attempt any delivery, or the paper in my mail box to tell me where and when i can grab it .. so after visiting several post offices to search for my reunion with some sonic Itaques, ( "Itaques" is secret pirate term .. unknown even to me) I found the box. (treasure chest) with the blessing of our good lord Poseidon (and huge packaging), both records are safe as milk (another great record, no?) !!! ...After making some research, I discovered that it was useless to do a Peyote ceremony to help as Poseidon does not carry Peyote... Thanks again Captain for the trip.

Come let me tell you a tale of psychedelic voyagers sailing on the good ship C.A. Quintet. The dear Captain looks after his crew. Case in point, the shipment of pirate cargo that was London bound arrived there in a melted state. A bit like a brain after being lyserigcally fried. Upon receiving the news, the Captain searched for a window of opportunity to ensure the replacement cargo did not suffer the same fate. Thus, it came to pass that the London bound replacement cargo of a piratic origin arrived ship shape and intact. The London crew shouted, 'Well shiver me timbers. Hooray for Captain Ken, the psychedelic explorer. He brought his name undying fame and that is why we say: Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!' (with apologies to the Marx Brothers). Thank you so much. And no duty had to be paid. Ooo aaargh.
